Content is the centric part of digital marketing. Without content, there is no digital marketing. Even in the traditional marketing also, Content is the Key. Content can be in the form of text, video, audio and info-graphics. Now-a-days, companies educating through content by having a blog which contain several articles regarding the companies product and services.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO is to rank our web pages in top of the search engine results, when people search for specific keywords. SEO is not one day work. It’s a continuous process. Search engines pick quality and relevant content to show in the SERP (Search Engines Results Page). Optimized content always takes better position in Search Engine results. Search Engines won’t charge to show the organic (free) results.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
SEM is the place where you invest to show your results for particular keywords. This is not free. It’s paid. This is the biggest revenue source for search engines. Google has lions share in Search Engine Marketing. Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu (In China) are the preferred search engines for marketers to advertise. Search Ads, Display Ads and Video ads on YouTube comes under Search Engine Marketing.
Social Media Marketing (SMM)
SMM is advertising on social media websites. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., websites can be treated as Social Media Websites. Marketers can run ads on these social media websites. Social Media Organic reach is almost dead now. Better you run ads to get traffic to the website through social channels. To run ads on Facebook, you need a Facebook Page. Similarly, you need a company page on LinkedIn to run ads on LinkedIn platform. In Instagram, you need to switch your personal account into business account.
E-mail Marketing is the marketing through E-mails. E-mail marketing is one of the key modules in the digital marketing. Why because, It comes under permission marketing and interacts like one-on-one communication. Earlier, E-mail marketing is like bulk SMS. sending a single mail to many people. But, now it has changed a lot. E-mail Marketing is also now personalized with workflows and E-mail automation. There are many E-mail marketing tools on Internet. Currently, I am using Mailerlite E-mail Marketing tool for my E-mail Marketing.
Web Analytics is the backbone for digital marketing. Web Analytics give data about how the website is performing. How many users are visiting the website. Which device users are using to browse the website and other data will be provided by the Web Analytics software. Majority of the bloggers and companies use Google Analytics (GA) product for Web Analytics. We have other advanced Web Analytics premium tools as well. Based on the need, we can use those tools.
